Quetta:Balochistan Governor Jaafar Khan Mandokhel acknowledged the significant challenges faced by journalists, reporters, and camera operators, many of whom come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. He highlighted that the profession often exposes individuals to risks, leading to injuries or fatalities, which in turn creates severe economic hardships for their families.
During a meeting at the Governor House in Quetta with Chairman of the Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees Shahid Mahmood Khokhar and journalist Shehzada Zulfikar, Governor Mandokhel expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the ITNE Tribunal in safeguarding journalists’ rights and economic well-being.
Governor Mandokhel praised media personnel working in both government and private sectors for their crucial role in keeping the public informed, raising awareness about rights and responsibilities, and serving as a bridge between the government and the public.
Chairman Shahid Mahmood Khokhar briefed the Governor on the issues faced by working journalists in Balochistan and the demands and complaints from various government bodies. In response, Governor Mandokhel assured that all issues and difficulties would be addressed within the framework of the law.
