Governor KP Calls for Unity to Tackle Enemies of Peace

PESHAWAR:Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, emphasized the importance of unity in the province, stating that all stakeholders must come together to identify and confront the enemies of peace. He underscored that strict actions, with the cooperation of the public, are essential for maintaining peace and security in the region.

The Governor was speaking at a Grand Jirga (tribal council) in Kohat, where he was joined by Federal Minister for SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, ANP Provincial President, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, PPP Provincial President, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, National Awami Party (NWFP) Provincial Chairman, Sikandar Hayat Sherpao, and JUI (S) leader Hafiz Abdul Rafiq.

In his address, the Governor mentioned his readiness to sit with the Jirga in Kurram for peace talks, no matter how many days it would take. He also acknowledged the possibility that external elements might be involved in destabilizing the region but suggested that local collaborators within the community could be providing them shelter.

Governor Kundi emphasized that political leadership would take the findings of the Jirga to the President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister, and the Army Chief for further action. In a related discussion with a TV channel, the Governor commented that if Parliament believes that PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) should be banned, then appropriate actions would be taken as per their recommendation.
