Governor Balochistan Jafar Khan Mandokhel Envisions Establishing a Modern IT Park in Quetta

Quetta:Governor of Balochistan, Jafar Khan Mandokhel, has outlined plans to establish a modern “IT Park” in Quetta to address the growing technological needs of the region and provide a hub for innovation and progress. Speaking during a briefing by Raheel Jameel, CEO of the Redis Group, Mandokhel emphasized that the advent of digital information technology has ushered in an era of rapid change, where new human behaviors are being shaped and perspectives on assessing and analyzing things are evolving.
However, he pointed out that the region’s limited resources and multiple challenges demand a comprehensive strategy to avoid an escalating crisis. He stressed that timely and wise planning is the key to preventing a bleak future.
Mandokhel also highlighted the province’s efforts to boost higher education, noting that Balochistan has made significant strides in this area. He commended the presence of hundreds of international-level Ph.D. scholars, researchers, and educators in the province’s eleven public sector universities, whose expertise will help chart a brighter and safer future for the region.
As Balochistan enters the era of artificial intelligence and robotic technology, Mandokhel acknowledged that intellectual capabilities are increasingly surpassing physical power. He added that the rapidly changing landscape will soon render traditional approaches and mindsets ineffective and irrelevant.
The Governor emphasized that the province is currently facing two major challenges: adopting innovation and permanently abandoning outdated practices. Nevertheless, he expressed confidence that with mutual understanding, public-friendly policies, and strategic planning, Balochistan would overcome these challenges and move toward a prosperous future.
