Governor Balochistan Emphasizes Strong Pakistan-China Partnership and CPEC’s Role in Economic Growth

Quetta:The Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhel, stated that Pakistan and China are committed to strengthening regional stability and security, with their longstanding friendship playing a crucial role in maintaining peace across the region. He highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a shining example of their cooperation, which is making Pakistan and Balochistan a key hub for economic and trade activities, fostering prosperity and development.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the Chinese Consul General in Karachi, Mr. Yang Yundong, today. The meeting was also attended by Senator Jam Karim Ali, Member of Provincial Assembly Zark Khan Mandokhel, Shehrayar Mandokhel, Wali Khan Mandokhel, Prince Jam Ali, and Kamal Nasir.
Governor Mandokhel emphasized that Balochistan is benefiting from the outcomes of the CPEC mega project, noting significant progress in infrastructure development, including expansive highways, the Gwadar Airport, and efforts to address the energy crisis, all of which are transforming the province’s economic landscape. However, he acknowledged that much work still remains to be done.
The Governor also pointed out that Balochistan offers numerous investment opportunities. He invited Chinese investors and businesses to explore a wide range of sectors in the province, from valuable minerals and energy to agriculture and tourism.
Mandokhel further stressed the importance of strengthening people-to-people relations, stating that as economic ties deepen, it is crucial to also enhance cultural and societal exchanges between the two nations. He expressed both countries’ commitment to exploring new areas of cooperation, including science, technology, and scientific education, to further solidify their friendship.
Earlier, the Governor commended the entire team of the Chinese Consulate for their warm welcome and hosting a dinner in his honor, expressing his gratitude for the hospitality extended during the visit.
