Governor Balochistan Calls for Joint Efforts to Resolve Complex Issues and Promote Youth Representation

Quetta:Governor of Balochistan, Jaafar Khan Mandokhel, emphasized the need for serious and collective decision-making to address the province’s complex issues. He stated that only by critically assessing the challenges at hand can we navigate through the deep economic and political issues affecting the region, with mutual understanding and collaboration.
Mandokhel stressed that, for a brighter future, increasing the representation of Balochistan, particularly the youth, in policy-making and decision-making processes is essential. He highlighted the role of the Balochistan Think Tank Network (BTTN) in promoting research-based knowledge and providing intellectual guidance for formulating national policies.
In his discussion with BTTN’s patron, Brigadier (r) Agha Ahmad Gul at the Governor House, Mandokhel pointed out that the absence of political and intellectual think tanks and research centers in the province had resulted in a failure to fully benefit from the expertise of intellectuals and researchers.
He also discussed the economic challenges along the border areas, particularly in Taftan and Chaman, and emphasized the importance of providing trade opportunities to the tribes living near the border, despite facing challenges in border management with Iran and Afghanistan.
Mandokhel reiterated that the sustainable peace and prosperity of Pakistan are closely linked to the peace and prosperity of Balochistan. He called for immediate action to address the issues at hand, emphasizing that the country cannot afford further divisions or conflicts.
The Governor also underscored the importance of aligning the youth with the changing demands of the modern world, which includes providing scientific education and modern skills. “We have abundant resources and essential facilities available, and by effectively utilizing them, we can quickly uplift the province from severe poverty and unemployment,” he stated.
Concluding his remarks, Mandokhel urged political leaders and all stakeholders to play a significant role in finding peaceful solutions to the current tense situation. At the end of the meeting, Brigadier (r) Agha Ahmad Gul presented the Governor with a gift of books based on modern research regarding Balochistan’s political, economic, and geographical issues.
