Governor Balochistan Calls for Effective Measures to Improve Law and Order Situation
Quetta:Governor of Balochistan, Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandokhel, has expressed hope that the provincial government will take effective steps to improve the current law and order situation in the region. Speaking to a private TV channel in Quetta, the Governor attributed the prevailing security challenges to past mistakes and emphasized the need for corrective measures.
Mandokhel stated that he is committed to working with all political parties, keeping the public interest in mind, and ensuring that collective efforts are made for the betterment of the province. He also pointed out the failure of the *Safe City* project, which faced significant objections at the time of its inception. Reflecting on its implementation, the Governor acknowledged that the project has not yielded the expected benefits, and the government is now aware of its shortcomings.
On the issue of political parties, Mandokhel mentioned that differences within political factions are common. He clarified that while some individuals may claim to be ideological workers, they are not necessarily aligned with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He also noted that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif had taken action by terminating the membership of party workers who violated party discipline.
Addressing the issue of intra-governmental disagreements, Mandokhel acknowledged that while Balochistan’s coalition government occasionally faces grievances among its allies, these disagreements should not be interpreted as major political rifts. He reassured that the provincial government remains vigilant and well-informed about the activities of disruptive elements who seek to destabilize the region. He concluded by expressing confidence that Balochistan’s security situation will improve soon, as the government is taking proactive measures to address the issues stemming from past mistakes.
