Government to Inform Jamiat-e-Islam After Negotiations, Says Information Minister
Rawalpindi: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has announced that discussions will be held with leaders of the Jamiat-e-Islam, and all matters will be communicated after negotiations.
Speaking to the media upon arriving at the Commissioner’s office, Tarar mentioned that the issues concerning electricity with Jamiat-e-Islam are under discussion. He clarified that consumers using up to 200 units of electricity have already been provided a subsidy of PKR 50 billion.
“At the same time, the government is initiating solar projects and plans to phase out diesel and petrol-based plants,” he added. “Installing solar tube wells will reduce electricity costs, aiming to provide affordable and quality electricity.”
Tarar assured that there have been no changes in the negotiating team on behalf of the government. He noted the absence of Owais Leghari, who is currently in China.
Meanwhile, a delegation from Jamiat-e-Islam, led by Liaqat Baloch, has also arrived at the Commissioner’s office for negotiations.
The government’s negotiating team includes Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Engineer Amir Maqam, senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and the Prime Minister’s Media Coordinator Badar Shahbaz.
The discussions aim to address and resolve various issues through constructive dialogue and cooperation between the government and Jamiat-e-Islam.
