Islamabad: Prime Minister Shabaz Sharif has announced relief for electricity consumers using up to 200 units for the next three months. Speaking at an event in Islamabad focused on energy sector reforms, the Prime Minister remarked on the government’s diligent budget approval process, underscoring the nation’s fiscal stability and avoidance of default.
Highlighting past challenges and political promises, he emphasized the government’s commitment to honest governance and service to the people. He also discussed strategic initiatives with international financial institutions and emphasized the importance of sustainable economic policies.
Regarding recent energy sector developments, Prime Minister Sharif stated that efforts are underway to enhance energy efficiency and reduce costs through solar power initiatives. He also announced a substantial subsidy of 50 billion rupees aimed at benefiting over 2.5 million electricity consumers, including domestic users and small businesses.
