Google Wallet Launches in Pakistan, Enabling Seamless Digital Payments

Karachi:Google has officially launched its digital wallet app, Google Wallet, in Pakistan on Wednesday. The app is now available for download on the Google Play Store. This move marks a significant step in enhancing digital payments and online transactions for Pakistani users.

According to Farhan Qureshi, Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, the digital payment landscape in the country is rapidly evolving, with a growing number of people embracing digital transactions. Google Wallet aims to provide a secure, seamless, and efficient way to make payments, shop, and travel.

He added, “Google Wallet will allow Pakistanis to tap and pay at stores, easily check out online without any disruptions, and access their boarding passes conveniently while traveling.”

The statement from Google also emphasized that the app offers a secure and user-friendly payment experience. Users can get started by downloading the Google Wallet app from the Google Play Store.

Visa and MasterCard holders will be able to add their bank cards to Google Wallet, marking an important milestone in promoting digital banking and electronic payments in the country.

Farhan Qureshi further mentioned that the launch of Google Wallet in Pakistan is part of efforts to promote digital payments, offering users a fast and secure method of payment. “Google Wallet provides a safe, easy, and effective way for users to make payments, shop, and make their travel experience smoother,” he said.

Moreover, users with Visa and MasterCard debit and credit cards from Allied Bank, EasyPaisa Digital Bank, JS Bank, and other banks will soon be able to add their cards to Google Wallet. Google Wallet can be used for payments online or within apps anywhere Google Pay is supported, allowing users to easily make payments at merchants globally.

This launch represents a significant step towards advancing digital payment systems in Pakistan, making transactions more secure and convenient for users.
