Good News for Vehicle Owners: Two-Month Extension in Biometrics Deadline

Lahore: The Sindh government has announced a two-month extension in the deadline for the biometric process for old vehicles.
In a meeting with the Car Dealers Association delegation, led by Chairman Mohammad Kamran Khan and accompanied by Saleem Godail and others, Sindh Minister for Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, confirmed the extension. The delegation had raised concerns regarding the ongoing biometric process.
Minister Chawla assured the delegation that the extension would provide vehicle owners additional time to complete the necessary biometrics. He also highlighted that an online system for the fee related to number plate changes would be introduced soon. Once the application for new number plates is submitted, they will be provided immediately.
The minister further mentioned that efforts are underway to simplify the procedures for vehicle taxes, registration, and biometrics. New Facilitation Centers will be established across the province to ease the process for the public.
“We aim to make the actions of the Sindh Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department more people-friendly,” said Chawla.
