Good News for Pakistanis: Saudi Arabia Announces 400,000 New Jobs
Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has announced plans to create over 400,000 new job opportunities in the country as part of its 2025 budget. The announcement was made by Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan, who presented the national budget for the year 2025, which was approved by the Saudi Cabinet.
The budget focuses on reducing unemployment, with particular emphasis on sectors where human resources are in demand. According to the proposed plan, approximately 400,000 jobs will be created across various regions of Saudi Arabia to further reduce the unemployment rate.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, the government has also decided to provide services to 170,000 institutions under the Workforce Development Fund. These institutions will launch training programs to enhance the workforce, which will benefit up to 2.3 million individuals.
In addition to the job creation initiative, Saudi Arabia is also moving forward with the partial launch of the Riyadh Metro on November 27. The metro service will operate without drivers, marking a significant step in the country’s transportation sector.
The first phase of the metro will cover three routes, including from Al-Orouba to Al-Batha and from King Khalid International Airport to the Ring Road, Abdulrahman bin Awf, and Sheikh Hassan bin Hussein. The second phase is expected to begin in mid-December, which will extend services from King Abdullah Road to King Abdulaziz City.
Children under six years old will be able to travel for free, while fares for adults will range from 4 to 40 Saudi Riyals. The administration aims to keep fares affordable to encourage more people to use public transportation, thus alleviating traffic congestion on the roads.
This move is expected to not only provide employment opportunities but also contribute to the improvement of urban mobility and economic growth in the Kingdom.
