Gas Pressure Issues and Unannounced Load Shedding in Quetta During Ramadan: Lala Yusuf Khalji

Quetta: The Chairman of the Balochistan Peace Jirga, Lala Yusuf Khalji, has expressed concerns about the decrease in gas pressure and unannounced load shedding in Quetta during the holy month of Ramadan and the winter season. He stated that the ongoing issues are not only leading to accidents but are also causing significant difficulties for women in preparing Sehri and Iftar.
In a statement issued here, Lala Yusuf Khalji mentioned that while the gas pressure in Quetta is almost negligible due to the cold weather and Ramadan, the Sui Southern Gas Company has also started both announced and unannounced load shedding. The frequent interruptions in gas supply have led to accidents. He highlighted the tragic incident that occurred in Pashtunabad, where a gas explosion resulted in the deaths of two people, including a girl, and left four others injured.
Khalji further emphasized that women, especially housewives, are facing severe difficulties in preparing meals for Sehri and Iftar due to the erratic gas supply. Additionally, the cold weather is leading to illnesses among the elderly and children.
He demanded that Sui Southern Gas Company take immediate measures to improve the gas pressure in Quetta and end the unannounced load shedding. He warned that if these issues are not addressed, the Balochistan Peace Jirga, along with the public, will be forced to launch a strong protest.
