Former President of Supreme Court Bar Association Criticizes Government’s Handling of Gwadar and Makran Division Issues
Quetta:In a recent statement, Amanullah Kanrani, former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, criticized the government for its mishandling and hasty decision-making in the dimensions of the province’s length and width, including the divisions of Gwadar and Makran. Kanrani stated that in the past, legitimate constitutional, legal, and national demands of Nawab Mohammad Akbar Bugti Shaheed were misrepresented, turning them into international issues by speaking in the language of power, thus transforming a district issue into an international issue. This has altered provincial autonomy into the right of self-determination. Today, due to the government’s lack of foresight and the use of force, unrest has made Gwadar a part of international discussions, causing a misperception among the people and undermining the foundations of the country. The pathway is being smoothed to fulfill the desires of the enemy. Providing an opportunity to question the country’s security by maintaining the continuity of the four-day government is not wisdom. The government is still maintaining obstacles in all directions. Allow protesters in Gwadar to exercise their right to freedom of speech. Arrested individuals should be released, and impartial investigations of injuries and killings involving relatives and government officials should be conducted by a High Court judge. Involved suspects should be brought under the grip of the law, and they should be genuinely sentenced.
