Former Interim Prime Minister and Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar Condemns Ethnic Killings in Balochistan

Quetta:Former Interim Prime Minister and Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar expressed concern over the ongoing killings in Balochistan, stating that for the past two decades, people have been killed in the name of ethnicity, but no significant response has come from other provinces, including Punjab. He emphasized that this lack of action is harming the situation.
While responding to the government’s decision to take effective action against terrorists, Kakar, in a private TV interview, said that the killings in the name of ethnicity are immoral, illegal, and unconstitutional, and no one can support such actions. He pointed out that despite repeated calls for dialogue by the government, ethnic-based killings in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have persisted for the last two decades, yet no voices have been raised from Punjab or any other province to condemn such actions.
Kakar further stated that the individuals behind these ethnic killings aim to create chaos in the country, but the Pakistani nation has collectively rejected every illegal act they have attempted. He reaffirmed that the attacks against individuals working in national institutions or those supporting the government are not the actions of the Baloch people, but rather those of terrorists. He lauded the government’s decision to take action against these terrorists, emphasizing that the move is commendable, and all must unite to rid both the province and the nation of terrorism.
