Islamabad:Former federal minister Fawad Chaudhry has voiced his support for the Election Commission’s decision not to seek a review of Supreme Court judgments concerning specific seats. Following a hearing on the anti-terrorism court case outside Lahore High Court, Chaudhry stated that the Election Commission’s move to uphold the decisions of the Lahore High Court’s election tribunals was commendable. He emphasized that the Election Commission should also respect the decisions of Chief Justice Lahore High Court and allow the election tribunals to work freely and examine Form 45 and 47. Chaudhry expressed concern that Maryam Nawaz and other PML-N leaders may be in jeopardy if Form 45 and 47 reveal irregularities. He also criticized attempts to intimidate judges with martial law rhetoric, asserting that retired judges are not suitable to handle political cases, and it should be incumbent service judges who preside over such matters.
