Former Balochistan CM Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo Denies Speculations on Government Agreement, Urges Unity for Province’s Betterment

Hub:Former Chief Minister of Balochistan and Senator, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, while speaking to journalists in Hub, dismissed rumors about a two-and-a-half-year agreement in the Balochistan government. He emphasized that such speculations had no basis, and the current situation in Balochistan was not conducive to such experiments. “In these circumstances, we should refrain from making such statements,” he said.

Bizenjo further clarified that there was no agreement between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on such a matter, adding that the focus should be on working together for the betterment of the province. “There is no system of rotating the government every two and a half years in Balochistan. Sardar Sarfraz Bugti, as Chief Minister, is working diligently to improve the governance of the province, and we should support him. The PPP will complete its five-year term in Balochistan,” he added.

In response to a question about the border closure, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo acknowledged the difficulties faced by the people of Balochistan due to the border restrictions. He stated, “It cannot be denied that thousands of people in Balochistan are dependent on the border for their livelihoods.” He pointed out that the current security situation in the province was the primary reason behind the border closure and urged the government to reconsider the decision. “The closure of the border has affected the livelihoods of hundreds of people. The government must address this issue,” he stressed.

Bizenjo also mentioned that he and other stakeholders, including the Chief Minister of Balochistan, were in constant contact to find solutions for the affected people. “We need to look at how we can provide alternatives for the people, as Balochistan has limited other sources of employment. If the border remains closed, people may fall into the hands of wrong elements,” he cautioned. He expressed confidence that the Chief Minister of Balochistan was working towards finding a way for those affected by the border restrictions to continue their livelihoods.
