Forest Department Imposes Rs. 1.7 Crore Fine on Illegal Tree Cutting in Quetta

Quetta:Conservator of Forests, Quetta Division, Muhammad Niaz Khan Kakr has announced that a case has been registered on the complaint of Forest Guard Nooroz Khan, and a fine of Rs. 1.7 crore has been imposed on the land administration for illegal tree cutting. He further stated that three block officers and one range forest officer have been suspended after taking notice of the illegal cutting of trees.
The charges against the accused have been submitted to the court for trial, and the fine amount will be recovered from them. Kakr revealed that similar action had been taken regarding tree cutting in areas such as Balochistan University and Shaaban, with three block officers and one range forest officer suspended for their involvement. An FIR will be filed against the said officers on Monday.
Kakr emphasized that the government, under the orders of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, will not tolerate any leniency towards those damaging the environment by cutting trees. He reminded the public that trees are essential for a healthy and beautiful environment, providing human, ecological, and economic benefits. The department will focus on planting new trees and ensuring their proper care, and public cooperation is critical in this effort.
