Flyadeal to Launch Scheduled Flights from Riyadh and Jeddah to Karachi in February 2025
Islamabad:In line with its major international expansion plan, Saudi Arabia’s leading budget airline *Flyadeal* is set to launch scheduled flights to Pakistan’s commercial capital, Karachi, starting next month. The airline will begin operating flights twice a week from Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and the commercial hub Jeddah to Karachi from **February 2, 2025**.
This marks *Flyadeal’s* first scheduled service to Pakistan and South Asia, following its participation in the recent Hajj operations. The new flights are part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand its footprint in the region, and they come after the successful operation of chartered flights for Hajj earlier this year.
According to *Flyadeal’s* CEO Steven Greenway, “After successfully running the Hajj charter for Pakistan this year, these two new scheduled routes to Karachi are our first entry into South Asia. They represent an important milestone in our growth.” He further praised the efforts of Pakistani authorities and the airline’s planning team for working diligently to introduce a new market as part of Flyadeal’s year-round destinations, with more Pakistani cities set to be included in the future.
Having established a solid domestic operation within Saudi Arabia, *Flyadeal* is now focusing on international expansion in 2025. The CEO added that this will be an exciting year for the airline, as additional aircraft will be added to its fleet, signaling a robust growth trajectory.
According to media reports, the first flight will depart from Jeddah to Karachi on **February 2**, 2025, at **2:45 AM local time**, and *Flyadeal* will operate services to Karachi and Lahore from Jeddah and Riyadh twice a week.
The bilateral air service agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, established in 2012 under the “Open Skies” policy, allows both countries’ airlines to offer services between any city in the respective nations, making it easier for airlines like *Flyadeal* to operate freely.
As a budget airline, *Flyadeal* is expected to bring increased competition in the market, leading to lower airfares for passengers. Experts anticipate that the introduction of a new airline with cost-effective services will likely make air travel more affordable for those traveling between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
