Karachi:A case has been registered by the government against two factions of the Bhutto family following an exchange of fire in Karachi’s Defence locality, resulting in the deaths of five individuals.
According to DIG South Asad Reza, the incident of firing occurred amid a dispute between both groups of the Bhutto family over an undisclosed matter, leading them to engage each other under the pretext of negotiations.
The deceased, identified as Fahad Bhutto, nephew of Nawab Akbar Bhutto, succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained to the chest during the incident and his body has been handed over to his heirs.
Police sources report that after the incident, 17 individuals were taken into custody from various areas of Defence, while Ali Hyder Bhutto and another individual have been formally arrested.
The police have filed a case against the incident under charges including murder, attempted murder, and terrorism at the government’s behest.
It is noteworthy that CCTV footage from Defence has emerged showing a bloody clash between groups associated with Fahad Bhutto and Ali Hyder Bhutto last night, which resulted in the tragic deaths of five individuals due to heavy gunfire exchanged from both sides.
