Islamabad:Finance Minister Muhammad Orangzeb Auj will embark on a three-day visit to China starting Tuesday, focusing on the crucial task of restructuring $15 billion energy loans. According to sources, Minister Auj will engage Chinese authorities in discussions regarding the rescheduling of the $15 billion energy loans.
For the loan restructuring, Pakistan and China may establish a joint working group during the visit. Matters related to circular debt in China’s energy sector, which amounts to approximately Rs. 500 billion, will also be discussed during the Finance Minister’s trip.
Sources further revealed that discussions on Panda Bonds will also be on the agenda during Minister Auj’s visit. Pakistan aims to secure a Panda Bond worth $30 million in China.
