Finance Minister Aurangzeb Highlights Decline in Inflation and Economic Reforms

Islamabad:Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that due to the government’s policies, inflation has reached its lowest level in nine years. Addressing the “Day of Construction and Development” ceremony, Aurangzeb highlighted the reduction in the policy rate and the increase in foreign exchange reserves as clear indicators of the government’s performance.
He emphasized the ongoing structural reforms including rightsizing, privatization, and the introduction of technology in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for tax reforms. He added that the government is committed to sustainable development and continuing efforts to improve the country’s economic standing.
Minister of Information Ataullah Tarar, also present at the event, remarked that the government had sacrificed politics to save the state, describing the past year as one of sacrifices. He emphasized that the goal was not politics, but to promote and develop the state.
In a separate speech at the event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed that the country had regained its stability after making tough decisions. He acknowledged the contributions of the salaried class, which had contributed 300 billion rupees to the national treasury, and stressed that the government’s actions were crucial in reducing inflation to its lowest point. He also highlighted that the agreement with the IMF helped avoid a potential default and secured the country’s economic future.
