FIA Investigation into Greece Boat Tragedy: 31 Officers and Personnel Under Scrutiny

Rawalpindi: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) continues its investigation into the tragic boat incident in Greece, with departmental inquiries underway regarding 31 of its officers and personnel.
According to sources, a special team formed under the leadership of FIA Director General (DG) has summoned all the concerned personnel to the agency’s Islamabad headquarters for personal hearings on the allegations against them. The officers and staff members are being questioned in a phased manner regarding their involvement in the incident.
Initial investigations have revealed that 31 FIA officers and personnel may have played a role in the Greece boat tragedy. These individuals were allegedly involved in providing assistance or showing negligence in relation to people who traveled abroad, particularly those who slipped away from legal processes. Following the revelations, the names of the suspected officers were added to the Passport Control List.
Among the 31 officials implicated, there are 19 from Faisalabad Airport, 3 from Sialkot Airport, 2 from Lahore Airport, 2 from Islamabad Airport, and 5 from Quetta Airport. These personnel include inspectors, sub-inspectors, head constables, and constables.
The FIA spokesperson confirmed that once a decision is reached or any departmental action is taken against the officers and personnel, further details will be shared with the public.
