Federal Minister Owais Laghari Claims to Eliminate Circular Debt in 6 Years

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Owais Laghari has claimed that the government aims to eliminate circular debt within the next six years. According to Laghari, the current circular debt stands at 2,400 billion rupees, and discussions are ongoing with banks to resolve 1,200 billion rupees of this debt.
The Minister further clarified that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) did not reject the government’s proposal to eliminate sales tax on electricity bills. Instead, he emphasized that the meeting with the IMF was constructive and productive.
