Karachi: Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has announced that two more universities will be inaugurated in Karachi in December, as part of efforts to expand higher education opportunities in the city.
Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui confirmed that the National Textile University campus will be inaugurated on December 14, while the National Skills University campus will also be established in Karachi later in the same month.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Siddiqui mentioned that the federal government plans to open a campus of a federal university in Mirpurkhas by March next year. This new campus will benefit students from Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Umerkot, and Tharparkar regions.
Dr. Siddiqui emphasized that the MQM Pakistan is committed to establishing universities across the country to spread the light of knowledge and education. He noted that while several locations for university campuses have already been identified, acquiring land for these institutions has proven to be challenging due to various obstacles.
He further assured that despite these hurdles, he remains committed to fulfilling his promise of bringing 20 universities from the federal government to Sindh.
