Quetta:Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan has urged that protests in Balochistan should not disrupt the environment, emphasizing that every individual should express their dissent within constitutional limits. In a video statement released on Tuesday, he warned that unwarranted protests can damage the country’s international image and deter foreign investors.
Khan acknowledged that issues are prevalent worldwide but stressed that solutions are found through constructive dialogue. He condemned recent incidents of unrest in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan, noting that while protests are a common occurrence, their objectives often lack clarity and do not address the core issues.
The Federal Minister highlighted that the government is aware of various national issues, including the significant challenge of rising electricity prices. He assured that efforts are underway to address these problems, with Prime Minister taking a personal interest in resolving energy-related issues.
Khan also noted that, for the first time in history, the government has earned $8 billion from agricultural exports within a short period and highlighted improvements in various sectors. He pointed out a continuous decrease in inflation rates and a notable reduction in the trade deficit.
Regarding Balochistan, Khan, a former Chief Minister of the province, expressed his understanding of its challenges. He stressed the importance of addressing issues related to Balochistan’s border with two neighboring countries and called for collective dialogue and debate on these matters. He assured that both federal and provincial governments are working together to resolve these issues and urged the public to remain informed and not be swayed by propaganda.
