Islamabad: The federal government has announced holidays on the 9th and 10th of Muharram-ul-Haram in observance of Ashura. Celebrated worldwide, Ashura commemorates the sacrifices of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his family for Islam, highlighting various aspects of their lives. As per tradition, this year too, the government has declared holidays on the occasion of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification for public holidays on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16th and 17th, across the country.
