Islamabad:The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced a U-turn, extending the deadline for filing income tax returns for the fiscal year 2024 by 14 days.
In an official statement, the FBR clarified that the decision to extend the filing deadline was made in response to requests from various trade organizations, tax bar associations, and the general public.
It is noteworthy that just a day earlier, the FBR had announced that there would be no extension to the deadline for filing income tax returns for FY 2024. An FBR spokesperson had stated that there was no truth to the reports circulating in the media regarding an extension.
The new deadline for submitting income tax returns will now provide taxpayers with additional time to fulfill their obligations.
