Fawad Khan Surprises Fans with “Abeer Gulaal” Teaser on Eid
Pakistani film industry’s global heartthrob and superstar, Fawad Khan, has gifted his fans with a special treat on Eid. The actor took to Instagram to share the teaser of his upcoming Bollywood film, *Abeer Gulaal*, marking his return to the Indian film industry after a nine-year hiatus.
Fawad Khan, who is all set to make his grand comeback on May 9, is starring opposite Indian actress Vaani Kapoor in this romantic comedy. The film, which was shot in London, will see Fawad playing the role of Abir Singh, while Vaani portrays his leading lady.
The 1 minute and 2 seconds long teaser features Fawad Khan singing the iconic 1994 Bollywood song *Kuch Na Kaho* from *1942: A Love Story*, in a romantic and captivating style. Directed by Arti S. Bagdi, the film’s storyline revolves around a love story set in London, with unexpected twists and touching moments that showcase the chemistry between Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor.
This marks the first Bollywood film featuring a Pakistani artist since 2018, following a ban on Pakistani performers in India in 2016. In the wake of this, the Indian extremist group Shiv Sena had appealed to make the ban legally binding in 2023, but the Indian courts rejected the petition.
Fawad Khan’s last Bollywood appearance was in *Ae Dil Hai Mushkil* (2016), and his much-anticipated return in *Abeer Gulaal* is creating excitement among his fans across the globe.
