Faisal Vawda Criticizes Bushra Bibi’s Sentence and Imran Khan’s Integrity
Islamabad:Senator Faisal Vawda has strongly criticized the legal proceedings surrounding former First Lady Bushra Bibi, suggesting that she deserved a much harsher sentence for the devastation caused. In a discussion on a private TV channel, he questioned the sudden shift in perception regarding Imran Khan’s integrity, asking, “What happened that suddenly Imran Khan is being seen as dishonest? Was he not dishonest before 2018?”
Vawda argued that if Imran Khan had been dishonest from the beginning, he could have taken millions of dollars during his divorce from Jemima Goldsmith, which he legally had a right to, but chose not to.
He further remarked on the state of PTI, saying, “Can you see any sincerity in PTI? Everyone is happy that Imran Khan is inside, but once he’s out, they will all be out as well. Half of them are the same people who once held press conferences against him.”
Regarding the 190 million-pound scandal, Vawda described it as a clear-cut case with no room for compromise, asserting, “This is an open and shut, black-and-white case. How can the court offer any pardon in this matter? Even after 15 or 20 hearings in the High Court, nothing will change.”
He concluded by emphasizing that the ongoing accountability was taking place because the Army Chief had taken action against one of his own institution’s most powerful individuals. “Otherwise, there are many big thieves in Pakistan who have yet to face accountability,” Vawda stated.
