Facebook Sudden Monetization Suspension Sparks Concern in Pakistan and Worldwide

In an unexpected move, Facebook has de-monetized numerous pages across the world, including in Pakistan, causing widespread concern among content creators. Over the past 48 hours, Facebook has significantly tightened its monetization policies, suspending monetization for hundreds of pages without prior warning or explanation.

Shockingly, the pages that were de-monetized did not violate Facebook’s community guidelines, leaving many users puzzled. This sudden action has particularly affected Pakistani users who rely on Facebook for earning income through their pages.

The company did not provide any kind of warning or clarification before suspending monetization. Initial reports suggest that Facebook may have quietly made significant changes to its monetization policies.

This unexpected de-monetization could be linked to a shift in Facebook’s financial eligibility policies, which now appear to impose restrictions on the use of Pakistani bank accounts and tax details. As per the new system, only countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and India may be able to use their financial details for monetization.

This means that a content creator who produces original content and follows Facebook’s guidelines but fails to meet the new financial criteria may see their monetization suspended automatically.

To avoid permanent monetization bans, page owners must provide bank and tax details from eligible countries and ensure their financial information matches official records. Moreover, submitting incorrect details may lead to permanent restrictions on monetization.

Users are advised not to use fake details, as doing so can result in severe consequences, including the permanent suspension of monetization. If Facebook’s system detects inaccuracies in the provided details, monetization could be permanently disabled.
