Karachi: The Sindh Education Department has extended the summer vacations for colleges following its earlier decision to extend school holidays due to prevailing weather conditions.
Under the directive of Provincial Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah, the Department of College Education Sindh has issued a notification extending holidays until August 14. Previously, schools and colleges were scheduled to reopen from August 1.
According to the notification issued by the Education Department, the decision to extend holidays was made considering the intensity of the heatwave and the possibility of heavy rainfall.
The minister emphasized that activities and pre-scheduled academic engagements related to August 14 in schools will continue as planned. The new academic year in Sindh will commence from August 15 following the holidays.
This decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students amidst challenging weather conditions across the province.
