Emergency Landing of PIA Flight from Muscat to Peshawar Due to Hydraulic Failure
Karachi:An emergency occurred on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-260, traveling from Muscat to Peshawar, leading to a rapid descent from 36,000 feet. The incident was caused by a severe technical failure in the aircraft’s hydraulic system.
The flight took off from Muscat at 5:22 AM local time. Approximately 30 minutes into the flight, at around 6:15 AM Pakistan Standard Time, the aircraft experienced a malfunction in Pakistani airspace, near Turbat. The hydraulic system failure forced the pilots to declare an emergency.
In just seven minutes, the aircraft descended from 36,000 feet to 10,000 feet and then to 8,000 feet. The pilots swiftly redirected the aircraft towards their headquarters in Karachi, successfully landing the Airbus A320 at Jinnah International Airport at 7:08 AM.
Sources indicate that a thorough inspection of the aircraft is currently underway at the airport. Passengers and crew are safe following this alarming incident.
