Rawalpindi: Emaan Mazari, an advocate, along with her husband, allegedly attempted to disrupt the route designated for the England cricket team. The third Test match between Pakistan and England is currently taking place in Rawalpindi.
According to police sources, the couple resisted police officers, with Mazari’s husband reportedly slapping officers and using abusive language. The incident occurred near Zero Point as the teams were being escorted to the stadium.
Police reported that Mazari’s husband threatened the officers, claiming they could not be stopped. Authorities stated that the couple violated protocols for state guests, leading to a potential security risk. As a result, police are filing charges for obstructing government operations and compromising the security of state guests.
