According to international media reports, the announcement came after a post on **X** where a user expressed interest in switching from Gmail to an email address associated with **@x.com**. In response, Musk wrote, “Interesting! We need to rethink how messaging, including email, works.”
Musk confirmed that **X Mail** would feature a **Direct Message (DM)-style interface**, similar to existing messaging platforms, suggesting a more streamlined and interactive approach to email communication.
