Electricity Bill Dispute: Citizen Evicted for Protesting Rs. 1.25 Million Bill on 126 Units
Lahore: Authorities have evicted a citizen after he lodged a complaint over receiving an exorbitant electricity bill amounting to Rs. 1.25 million for 126 units. The resident from Sheikhupura, Gul Shahid, challenged the billing action through advocate Rana Sikander in Lahore High Court, naming LESCO among others.
In the petition filed in court, the citizen contested LESCO’s decision to issue a bill of Rs. 1.25 million despite his usage of 126 units, describing it as unfair. Upon seeking rectification of the bill, LESCO officials allegedly evicted him forcibly.
The court has now been requested by the citizen to issue directives for the correction of the electricity bill.
