Election Commission Orders Recount in Balochistan’s PB-21 Constituency

Islamabad:The Election Commission of Pakistan has issued a decision to conduct a recount in the PB-21 constituency of Balochistan, following a case filed by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Hassan Zahri. Zahri had requested a recount after the victory of Muhammad Saleh Bhootani from the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) in the same constituency.

The matter was previously referred to the Supreme Court, which remanded the case back to the Election Commission, instructing it to make a decision within 30 days. In response, the Election Commission today delivered its verdict, ordering the recount of votes in PB-21 to ensure a transparent resolution of the dispute.

The recount decision comes after concerns were raised by Hassan Zahri regarding the accuracy of the vote count during the election.
