Islamabad: The Election Commission has issued notices to the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry in contempt cases against the commission and Chief Election Commissioner.
Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry are facing allegations of contempt of the Election Commission. The hearing for the contempt case is scheduled for July 11th. Election Commission member Nasir Durrani will preside over the hearing on the contempt case.
It is pertinent to mention that the case has been pending for two years, and Fawad Chaudhry did not appear at the last hearing.
Accusations of contempt against the Election Commission and Chief Election Commissioner have been formally lodged against Imran Khan, founder of PTI, and Fawad Chaudhry. Fawad Chaudhry had previously requested an open trial in the contempt case against the Election Commission.
