Islamabad: The Election Commission has called a formal meeting on Thursday, July 18, to deliberate and implement the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s recent verdict. The meeting, scheduled for 11 AM at the Election Commission’s office, will include briefings by the Secretary of the Election Commission, Elections and Legal Wings heads, on various aspects pertaining to the enforcement of the court’s orders.
The session aims to thoroughly examine different facets of compliance with the Supreme Court’s directives. It is noteworthy that the Supreme Court had declared the Peshawar High Court and Election Commission’s decision null and void, while ordering the allocation of specific seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The Supreme Court also recognized PTI as a political party in Parliament and provincial assemblies.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court regarding the allocation of specific seats to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
