Education Minister of Balochistan Calls for Students’ Role in Eradicating Corruption
Quetta:The **Education Minister of Balochistan, Raheela Hamid Khan Durrani**, stated that **corruption** is a **poison** for any society and nation, and students are the future of the country who can play a decisive role in eliminating corruption in practical life. She expressed these thoughts during her speech at a ceremony organized by the **Departments of Colleges, Higher Education, and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)** at the **Government Post Graduate Girls College, Quetta Cantt** on Thursday.
The ceremony was attended by senior civil and government officials, principals from various educational institutions, and a large number of students. During the event, **debates, speech competitions in Urdu and English**, and **calligraphy competitions** were held. The winners of these competitions were awarded prizes and trophies by the **Minister of Education, Raheela Hamid Durrani**.
In her speech, Minister Raheela Durrani emphasized that **corruption** is detrimental to the growth and prosperity of any society. She stated, “Students are the future of our beloved homeland, and they can play a pivotal role in eliminating corruption in the country.” She also highlighted the importance of **personal responsibility**, urging everyone to contribute according to their ability to fight corruption.
Raheela Durrani underscored that corruption goes against the teachings of **Islam** and that **Pakistan** was achieved through great sacrifices. “We should not lead our country into corruption. The sacrifices of martyrs and heroes during the creation of Pakistan must be remembered, and only by doing so, can we serve our nation with integrity.”
She added that if people align their **actions with sincere intentions**, then **success** is inevitable. “Balochistan is the **jugular vein** of Pakistan, and the world’s eyes are on Pakistan and Balochistan. Students play a **backbone** role in society, and we should work throughout our lives, with the awareness of accountability in the hereafter, to contribute positively to society. Through good deeds, we will earn rewards in this world and the hereafter.”
In his address, **Director NAB Balochistan**, **Imran Maqsood**, emphasized the need for **awareness campaigns** on corruption in educational institutions. He stressed that the **youth** and **educational institutions** can play a crucial role in eliminating corruption from society. He stated, “Corruption is a cancer, and a society that tolerates corruption cannot progress.”
The ceremony highlighted the critical role of educational institutions and youth in fostering a culture of **integrity** and **social responsibility**.
