Islamabad:Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik is currently in Pakistan, where he attended an event at a private hotel in Islamabad for Pakistan Sweet Home. During the event, he addressed the children of Pakistan Sweet Home, sharing insights and encouragement.
However, a video of Dr. Naik leaving the stage has gone viral on social media, leading to discussions about the circumstances surrounding his departure. Reports suggest that when Zamarud Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Sweet Home, called Dr. Naik to present shields to orphan girls, he left the stage without handing them over. According to sources, he remarked that “these are not your daughters; they are non-mahram, and you cannot touch them or refer to them as your daughters.”
Some commentators claimed that Dr. Naik refused to present the shields, citing the girls’ non-mahram status as a reason.
A representative from V News, who attended the event, clarified that Dr. Naik was invited as a guest of honor but only planned to stay for a brief period. Due to the screening of documentaries, the event extended beyond the anticipated duration, possibly prompting his early exit. The representative emphasized that the narrative circulating on social media regarding Dr. Naik’s departure lacks truth and that there was no instance of him presenting shields to boys while neglecting the girls.
During his address to the children, Dr. Naik expressed joy in meeting the “angels and fairies” of Pakistan Sweet Home. He quoted a verse from the Quran, emphasizing the importance of education and learning, stating that true knowledge should bring one closer to Allah.
Zamarud Khan praised Dr. Naik as a beacon of light for the Muslim community and expressed pride in his participation in the event, highlighting its significance for the children of Pakistan Sweet Home.
