Islamabad:Renowned Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has arrived in Pakistan at the government’s special invitation, receiving a warm welcome at Islamabad Airport. Among those present to greet him were Rana Mashhood, head of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, and Secretary of Religious Affairs Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman.
During his visit, Dr. Naik is scheduled to meet with key figures in the country and deliver speeches at various events across Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad. His itinerary includes engagements from October 5-6 in Karachi, October 12-13 in Lahore, and October 19-20 in Islamabad. His lectures will be broadcast live on the religious television channel Peace TV.
Dr. Naik has labeled his series of talks as “Peace Talks.” He previously announced his intention to visit Pakistan in 2020, but the trip was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a recent online program, he mentioned receiving numerous invitations from various cities in Pakistan, although time constraints limit his ability to accept all of them.
He confirmed that he has selected the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad for one of his key engagements, where he will address a large gathering on October 19. Dr. Naik expressed that this marks his first official visit to Pakistan, a long-cherished dream since his earlier visit in 1991 to meet Dr. Israr Ahmed.
This visit not only aims to promote Islamic teachings but also provides an opportunity for cultural exchange between Pakistan and India.
