Dr. Shali Baloch Urges Baloch People to Support Baloch Unity Committee and Struggle for Justice

Turbat:Dr. Shali Baloch, the central leader of the Baloch Women Forum, has appealed to the local population of Balochistan to support the Baloch Unity Committee (BYC), its leaders, and all the oppressed individuals who are fighting for their legitimate rights. She emphasized that unity is the only path through which peace, stability, and justice can be ensured in Balochistan during these challenging times.
Dr. Shali Baloch highlighted the worsening situation in Balochistan as a reflection of growing state repression and injustice, where the Baloch people are being targeted based on their identity. She criticized the baseless cases filed against BYC leadership, including Dr. Maherang Baloch and Sami Din, saying these actions are a clear indication that the rule of law is nonexistent, and a reign of oppression prevails.
She further stated, “If enforced disappearances, state violence, tear gas shelling, indiscriminate firing, and false terrorism charges were the solution to suppress the Baloch people’s rights, this issue would have been resolved long ago, especially when the state forcibly annexed Kalat to Pakistan in 1948.” She pointed out that since then, peaceful human rights movements have been met with state crackdowns, and the current repression is a continuation of this longstanding policy.
Dr. Shali Baloch also condemned the recent arbitrary arrests of nearly 200 individuals in the past three days, including charges under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance against Dr. Maherang Baloch, Sami Din Baloch, Bebo Baloch, and others. She labeled these charges as an excuse by the state to suppress the peaceful movement of the Baloch people.
She revealed that a search operation is ongoing in Quetta, primarily aimed at intimidating the public and deterring them from resistance. She mentioned that state authorities illegally raided the home of Gulzadi Baloch, confiscated her belongings, and threatened her to abandon her struggle. Furthermore, two young girls, including 17-year-old Muzalfa Qambarani, were unlawfully detained as they were on their way home from Qamberani Road.
Dr. Shali Baloch expressed deep concern over such incidents in Baloch society and stated that the state institutions do not want peace and justice in Balochistan, as the region has become a war zone where various factions are exploiting instability for personal gain. She accused them of intentionally worsening the situation, even during the holy month of Ramadan, continuing their oppression and targeting individuals without discrimination based on gender or age.
With a lack of hope in the current government and state institutions, Dr. Shali Baloch stressed that it is imperative for the Baloch people to raise their voices against state brutality. “Freedom and justice will only be achieved when we unite as one nation and collectively hold accountable those responsible for the suffering of our people,” she said.
She concluded by calling on the local population to support the Baloch Unity Committee, its leaders, and all the oppressed individuals fighting for their rights. “Unity is the only way forward that will pave the path for peace, stability, and justice in Balochistan during this critical time,” she urged.
