Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch Criticizes State Policies, Pledges National Party’s Commitment to Opposing and Resolving Issues in Balochistan

Quetta:The President of the National Party and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, stated that the situation in Balochistan is worsening due to the state’s incorrect policies and negligence. He highlighted issues such as national highways being blocked and the increasing number of forced disappearances, which are contributing to public dissatisfaction and growing resentment toward the country. He emphasized that these issues are making it increasingly difficult for the people of Balochistan to stay connected with the state.

In his address during the meeting of the National Party’s central committee at Mohammad Shehi House in Quetta, Dr. Baloch stated that his party would continue to raise the voice of the people of Balochistan in both the National Assembly and the Provincial Assembly, ensuring proper representation. He criticized the federal and provincial governments for lacking a clear strategy regarding Balochistan, stating that their reliance on the use of force rather than addressing the root issues is a sign of weak governance.

He also discussed the impact of the closure of borders, the halt in fisheries, and the lack of subsidies for agriculture, all of which are exacerbating the hardships faced by the people of Balochistan. He called on the federal government to take these issues seriously. Dr. Baloch stressed that while the world is progressing with innovations like Artificial Intelligence, the people of Balochistan still lack basic human rights.

He pointed out the ongoing internal conflicts in Pakistan’s powerful institutions, including the judiciary and the military, and criticized the political parties for prioritizing corruption over public welfare. He further condemned the two major political parties for surrendering their ideologies and engaging in undemocratic actions, which undermine the spirit of democracy in the country.

Dr. Baloch also shared his views on the impact of U.S. President Donald Trump’s actions on the region, stating that there is uncertainty surrounding his policies, as he fluctuates between discussing war and peace. He criticized the situation in Balochistan, where oil is smuggled across the border, and the hard work of local people is exploited, with the profits of these illicit activities often reaching Islamabad.

The National Party leader also criticized the political establishment for their involvement in electoral manipulation and the interference of the military in administrative matters, such as transfers, postings, and tenders for development projects. He questioned how administrative performance could improve under such conditions.

Dr. Baloch highlighted that the National Party successfully held a National Congress, gaining recognition among democratic circles for its commitment to electoral transparency, and expressed his hopes for continuous progress in the party’s efforts. He emphasized that the meeting would continue the next day, with several key figures of the National Party presenting their reports on organizational activities in Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab.

The meeting was attended by various party members, including Mir Kabir Ahmad Mohammad Shehi, Aslam Baloch, Ayub Malik, Taj Mari, Dr. Sarfraz Khan, and several others.
