Dispute Between Doctors at Punjab Institute of Cardiology Leads to Protest

Lahore:A dispute erupted between doctors at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) when Assistant Professor Dr. Ghous allegedly assaulted his junior, Dr. Ejaz Kharal, in the lab. In response to the incident, Young Doctors held a protest and ceased work in various departments.

Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Shoaib has formed a committee to investigate the matter, and the committee is expected to submit its report within three days.

Dr. Shoaib explained that two new angiography labs had been added to the PIC, and the young doctors had refused to work in the new labs. According to Dr. Shoaib, Dr. Ghous had asked Dr. Ejaz Kharal to join him for an angiography procedure. When Dr. Kharal declined, the situation escalated into a verbal altercation, which later led to physical confrontation.

Dr. Shoaib assured that a thorough investigation is underway and that legal action will be taken against those responsible for the incident.
