Quetta:Mohammad Ishaq and Jameel Ahmed, dismissed employees of the Balochistan Police, have demanded the immediate reinstatement of 225 men and women employees to ensure continuity in their livelihoods and duties. They expressed their grievances alongside Farhan, Mohammad Ashraf, Shahzeb Banglazi, and others during a press conference at the Quetta Press Club on Sunday.
Citing the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s ruling, they highlighted that in accordance with departmental rules and regulations and humanitarian considerations, they were reinstated to their positions. Additional IG Police Balochistan, Mohammad Jawad Dogar, reinstated approximately 800 employees, including about 25 to 30 women employees who have been diligently performing their duties for the past 16 months. They emphasized that during their service, three young employees sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, yet they were not compensated.
They stated that due to the intervention of the police department and the AG’s orders, the salaries of 225 employees have been suspended. Eighty percent of the reinstated employees are receiving their salaries regularly, whereas 20 percent are not, which is a matter of concern for both the department and the authorities. They stressed that media should report based on facts from both sides.
They mentioned that they have also spoken to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, who assured them that he would discuss the matter with the IG Police Balochistan. In response to a question, they revealed that they had come for a press conference against this decision on June 14, but their media colleagues had prevented them. After one month, notifications to dismiss their colleagues from their jobs were issued in July. Therefore, they demanded from the Chief Minister of Balochistan, IG Police Balochistan, and senior officials to reinstate them to their jobs. If they are not reinstated, they will raise their voice on every platform for their rights, including the courts.
