Quetta:Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the commencement of direct flights from Quetta to Jeddah for Umrah pilgrims starting from August 6, 2024. Previously, residents from remote areas of Balochistan had to travel first to Karachi before proceeding to Saudi Arabia for Umrah rituals. Now, with direct flights from Quetta, pilgrims will have a more convenient and direct route.
Abdul Ghaffar Mian Khel, GM Balochistan for PIA, spoke to the media, expressing gratitude and highlighting the significance of this new service. He mentioned that these direct flights will operate every Tuesday and Friday, catering specifically to the convenience of Balochistan’s residents. Booking for these flights has already begun.
The introduction of these direct flights is expected to significantly reduce travel hardships for the people of Balochistan, especially those undertaking spiritual journeys, by providing them with easier access to Umrah facilities in Saudi Arabia.
