DG Levies Abdul Ghaffar Magsi Reaffirms Merit-Based Recruitment and Anti-Corruption Measures

Quetta:DG Levies, Abdul Ghaffar Magsi, has emphasized that there will be no compromise on merit in the recruitment process for the Levies Force. In a statement, he reiterated the commitment to eradicating corruption from the force and ensuring its ability to tackle all challenges effectively. He stated that recruitment will be based on merit, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and every effort will be made to ensure a transparent hiring process.
Magsi further explained that the abolition of corruption will open up opportunities for competent candidates to join the Levies Force. To facilitate this, a Complaint Cell will be established within the Directorate of Levies, which will receive complaints related to irregularities. Strict actions will be taken against those found involved in corruption.
Addressing the issue of delayed promotions, he acknowledged that the delay in the promotion process has been affecting the morale of Levies personnel. He assured that pending promotion cases will be presented before the appropriate forum for review. Additionally, efforts are underway to implement the Levies Act and carry out legislative measures, with the formation of a committee led by the Special Secretary of the Home Department to review the force’s operational capabilities.
DG Levies Magsi also mentioned that special focus is being given to enhancing the operational capacity of the Levies Force. He highlighted that training modules for special wings and units will be developed, and personnel will receive training from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps. Furthermore, the Levies Force will be equipped with modern communication equipment, and the provincial Levies control room will be fully operationalized. The government will also address the logistical issues faced by the Levies Force and ensure the provision of necessary equipment and supplies.
