Deputy Commissioner Quetta Warns Against Road Blockages During Protests, Strict Action Against Violators

Quetta:Deputy Commissioner of Quetta, Lieutenant (Retd.) Saad Bin Asad, has made it clear that road blockages for protests in the city will not be permitted. While acknowledging the right to peaceful demonstrations, he emphasized that protests must be held at designated areas without causing inconvenience to the public.

In a media briefing, the Deputy Commissioner stated that peaceful protests are a right of every citizen, but they must be conducted in an orderly manner without disrupting public life. He confirmed that specific locations such as the Quetta Press Club, Zargoon Road Hockey Ground, and Sariab Football Ground have been designated for protests. Any violation of the orders to block roads will be met with legal action.

He also warned that damaging public property under the guise of protest is not acceptable and will be treated as vandalism. Strict action will be taken against those who engage in destruction or violence during protests. The Deputy Commissioner further mentioned that a teacher who had brought a schoolgirl to a protest has been suspended, as using children for protests is unacceptable. He concluded by stating that anyone attempting to take the law into their own hands under the cover of protest will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
