Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan emphasizes positive impacts of CPEC and Gwadar Port in interview with Chinese media
Quetta:Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan, in a special interview with CGTN’s Urdu program “Top View,” highlighted various projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Gwadar Port, stating they serve as exemplary initiatives contributing positively to regional development. He emphasized that China’s pragmatic approach towards development and prosperity is bringing beneficial impacts to the region, marking a new era of progress.
In his interview, he mentioned Prime Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif’s recent successful visit to China with a delegation, which holds particular significance. Discussions during the visit, beyond Phase 2 of CPEC, included leveraging modern Chinese economic systems and signing several memoranda of understanding, which will greatly benefit Pakistan.
“The various sectors engaged in this visit will see positive outcomes, including agriculture, defense, health, infrastructure, and others,” said Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan. He further added, “Historically significant agreements were made during this visit, which are extremely important. The current government’s economic vision will receive further impetus, and all these projects will proceed successfully.”
Regarding international investment opportunities and development in Gwadar, Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan stated, “CPEC will benefit Pakistan and the people of Gwadar immensely. The port will bring improvements in trade, agriculture, and other sectors. The local people of Gwadar welcome this project.”
He remarked on the negative propaganda against this project, saying, “The present government has effectively countered it, and security agencies have played a significant role in this regard.” He expressed hope that the developmental outcomes of Gwadar Port will soon be evident, benefiting Balochistan.
“The youth of Balochistan are studying in various educational institutions in China, and this will benefit Pakistan, particularly Balochistan,” he said. “The government is in constant contact with local leadership to ensure community participation, and it is providing ample opportunities for their inclusion.”
Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan expressed optimism, “Gwadar is an international port that will play a crucial role in regional connectivity and economic prosperity. It will enhance incomes and revenues in every sector of life.” He highlighted the positive global economic impacts of China’s pragmatic economic wisdom, stating, “This will be beneficial for everyone.”
Deputy Chairman Senate Syed Ali Khan concluded by likening China-Pakistan friendship to a strong fortress. “Both have supported each other in difficult times. China and Pakistan have taken practical steps to elevate their friendship to new heights, and we hope it will be further expanded.”
He also mentioned the mineral resources found in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan, saying, “Allah has blessed Pakistan and Balochistan with mineral resources, and there is a need to further enhance relationships in the mining sector.”
“CPEC and the Gwadar friendship and trust are great examples,” he said. “Through this, we can bring about transformations in every aspect of life, improving the standard of living for the people.”
