Islamabad:Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that if Imran Khan apologizes and becomes part of the political framework, there would be no objections from them.
He remarked that PTI’s call for protest is the first step towards seeking forgiveness, adding that PTI’s founders are intelligent individuals who can go to any extent to come into power. However, at present, there is no one credible enough to believe in.
Khawaja Asif emphasized that PTI cannot survive without power and can be expected to do anything for it. He criticized Imran Khan’s derogatory remarks, noting how people went to Jinnah House based on someone’s saying.
Further, he reiterated that there is no threat if PTI seeks forgiveness, as it wouldn’t concern them if Imran Khan becomes part of the political spectrum. Asif concluded, stating that the real test is to gauge the temperature of water.
On the other hand, PPP leader Sherry Rehman expressed her surprise over PTI’s claims that the protest on May 9 was peaceful. She pointed out that videos clearly showed otherwise, and criticized Imran Khan’s mindset of believing he is the state when he is merely a part of Pakistan.
